The classical Chinese acupuncturists believe that channels of energy run through the body; when these channels are blocked or out of balance, pain and disease can result. Therapeutic touch practitioners use their hands to balance the human energy field, believing that, when in balance, the body will begin to automatically heal. Reiki masters working with universal life energy use light hand placements, which they believe will change energy, giving the recipient the ability to bring optimal health to his body.
Polarity therapy practitioners use varied touches, rocking movements or specific acupressure or reflex points, believing energy follows form and has distinctive patterns of flow and, when in balance, creates health and healing. The research surrounding the practices of energy medicine is profound. The results from numerous studies show energy therapies can relieve pain, speed up healing from trauma-based injuries, positively affect people during surgery as well as influence the healing process of disease and other auto-immune problems.
Polarity therapy is an alternative therapy that involves using your hands to help balance the flow of energy in the body to improve or maintain health. It was developed by the chiropractor and osteopath Randolph Stone. Polarity therapy is also known as polarity balancing and polarity energy balancing.
This type of therapy is somewhat influenced by the concepts of energy flow used in Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. However, polarity therapy differs from those types of medicine given its theory that positive and negative energy charges in the body's electromagnetic energy field govern the flow of energy in the body.
How Does Polarity Therapy Work?
According to practitioners of polarity therapy, illness is caused by disruptions in the body's energy flow and the resulting stress and trauma. Polarity therapy is based on the idea that there are three types of energy fields in the body:
Long-line currents that run north to south in the body
Transverse currents that run east-west in the body
Spiral currents that start at the navel and expand outward
To find the sources of energy blockages, polarity therapy practitioners scan the body for symptoms like pain, discomfort, muscle spasms, and muscle tension, especially in the shoulders and back. Once blockages are identified, the practitioner uses a variety of techniques to clear the paths of energy fields.
It's important for people with cancer and certain chronic conditions, to consult their physician prior to undergoing polarity therapy. Polarity Therapy is not to replace any medical guidance or western medicine treatment. It will coincide with all sorts of treatment to help optimum healing.

Maggie began her dharma to help others early in life. At twenty one, she was on a journey as an Occupational Therapist working primarily with children on the spectrum. She had already started her own yoga practice and knew the magical shifts that were happening within. After implementing numerous yoga techniques with these specific children, she noticed a significant change with their level of concentration, body awareness and overall well being. Because of these profound effects, and her individual growth in her own practice, it inspired her to receive her Hatha Yoga 200hr training as well as a specific Certifications to become a Children’s Yoga Teacher and a Pre Natal Yoga Teacher. Maggie has always had a special interest with children who have sensory processing difficulties and is also certified by Color Me Yoga for working with Special Needs Children and Integrating Yoga and Other Mind/Body Techniques.
Maggie’s own difficulties with Chronic Lyme disease opened the doors to many fantastic energy healers. She knew in order to heal completely, the work that had to be done was not only on the physical plane but also healing our past wounds on an emotional and energetic level. Yoga and energy healing sessions go hand in hand to help support our well-being and to keep us grounded. Maggie loves to give energy healing sessions and is a certified Polarity Therapist, has her Reiki I and Reiki II certifications and has taken some workshops on the science of foot reflexology. Together, she combines these healing modalities to provide healing sessions for people.
Maggie loves life and expresses herself through dance, music, art and yoga. In her classes, Maggie encourages adults and children to explore and feel what is right for his/her body without being afraid to fall or make mistakes.
